Albion

  • Kings Place 90 York Way London, England, N1 9GU United Kingdom (map)

After Brexit, what does it mean to be English or British? We asked Orlando Gough and Gabriel Prokofiev to help find some answers; and then we commissioned 11 composers from various backgrounds to chose a piece that meant something to them about English-ness and arrange it for viols. The result is now Albion, using electronics and computer-generated sound to enhance a programme that includes music by The Clash, Edward Elgar, Annie Lennox, William Byrd, Napalm Death and many more, arranged by Talvin Singh, Blasio Kavuma, Sally Beamish, Cevanne Horrocks-Hopayian, Genevieve Murphy, Yfat Soul Zisso, Max de Wardener, Ewan Campbell, Sarah Dacey, Orlando Gough & Gabriel Prokofiev.
